What are keyloggers and surveillanceware?
Spytech's SpyAgent does a lot, that's for sure. In one way, that's great. In another, to have too many options that you can click, turn on, turn off, or try to figure out what they do, well, maybe it's too much.

This review will be going over the many features and will let you know if the hefty $70 price tag is worth it for just one copy.

Once you download the trial software, SpyAgent is easy enough to install and there are options to install it normally or in total stealth.

Once it's installed, you are brought to it's main window which gives you access to the program's reports and settings.

We'll start at the Settings which are located on the right side of the program. The General settings include such things as Starting the program when Windows OS starts, start in invisible mode, and password settings.

The Logging tab allows you to pick and choose what you want to log so you won't collect any information if you don't want to. Screen Spy is a timed based screen shot collector and it'll even use keywords to increase screen shots taken.

The Alert Notifications are here but they only send alerts to your email, no screen shots or actual keylogs. We would have liked to seen actual information sent as oppose to just a notice that something has occurred.

After you set everything up, which should take awhile, you're ready to start recording what happens on the computer.

After you're all done recording, you can go through what it has recorded.

Keystrokes Typed records key strokes and it's nicely implemented in this program. It records everything and tells you what it was recorded in. You can also format each log so you can remove the special keys pressed like [tab] and [left shift]. It disappears after you click to the next program you want to see what was logged. But if you export, then you can save it as is.

The other important window is the Screenspy Screenshots tool. It is done like a movie viewer where you can click First, Previous, Next and Last to view the screenshots. It works well and the ability to save them is nice also.

The other buttons are more like timelines and logs of events. Program Usage, Clipboard Logs, Events Timeline, Windows Viewed, File/Documents Usage and SpyAgent Actions. It's good to have this information presented to you but to have them all separated seems like overkill. Spytech could just have easily put this information altogether with the keylogger.

Emails Sent/Received , Internet Activities, Websites Visited and Chat Transcripts don't really show too much info. More like what program was used, what time, etc... The Emails Sent/Received button does show who sent an email and what email address you received it from but it doesn't show the content of the email.

What we would say is that SpyAgent like to separate all it's info that is collected and if you like your info presented to you in that way, then give it a shot. See if it's more to your liking then more simpler software.

That's why different software is good to check out. Whereas some software makes it easy to understand and use like Key Plus Plus, others give you more choices as to what you want to record and how you want to do it. SpyAgent is a superb choice in that regard but for us it's too much.

We would rather get the software on, hide it quickly and be sent our information as oppose to reports using a much simpler system. If you want more choices and don't mind the time needed to get it all set up, then SpyAgent will probably fill your needs.
Bottem Line
Spytech SpyAgent has alot of choices when it comes to setting up the software. You choose what to log, you choose how often a screenshot is taken, you choose when the program starts, hidden or unhidden, you choose whether or not to tell the person you're spying on them when the program starts and so on and so on.

Are all these choices needed? They weren't for us, but we know that some users might want that and we're guessing that's why SpyAgent comes in at a pretty high price of $70 for something that needs alot of set up time. There's no quick install, quick set up time, and then away you go here with this software. But if you're willing to invest the time and money needed, SpyAgent is a solid choice.
